Che Lingo Opens Up The Mind In Metal & Rocks

Che Lingo

The last year has a seen a huge rise in talent coming from South London when it comes to modern rap.

We’ve seen a resurgence in Grime with the likes of Stormzy seeing global success and we’ve seen movements in the drill scene with the likes of Section Boyz leading the way.

Che Lingo on the other hand, is flying the flag when it comes to lyrical hip hop. Following storytelling vibes in Stephanie’s Crib, Zuko and Black Girl Magic, the South West Londoner delivers a powerful message in Metal & Rocks.

The slick flowing track is also accompanied by quick cutting visuals to allow Che to spit clever but thought provoking bars about how society is obsessed with materialism rather than focusing on what is more important.

“They got us really deadin’ over metal & rocks
Got us incarcerated over metal & rocks
Selling your soul for metal &rocks
“My brudda please remember it’s just metal & rocks”

It’s really refreshing to hear such creative flows and metaphoric lyricism combined with a deeper message. These days we either hear an overly conscious track or a catchy track with no mission. This tune right here manages to perfectly balance the best of both worlds, while the visuals heighten the energy even further.

This video prepares us for his upcoming EP that will be out in 2018. We’re excited to hear the progress of the rapper as he continues to break through. Combining influences of jazz, grime, old school hip hop and futurism, Che’s sound offers a fresh take on rap that will no doubt continue to reach new heights.
