Eastenders star, Richard Blackwood has hit the headlines this week – well, his brother has anyway

Marcus Blackwood  has been jailed after being caught ditching a load of cocaine as he sped away from police. CCTV footage showed Blackwood, 36, chucking a bag containing ten wraps of the class A drug  into an underground car park. After catching up with him, City of London police stopped and searched  his silver Mercedes, before finding a further five wraps stuffed in his underpants.

A further search of his home address revealed a shoe box containing measuring scales, 12 wraps of coke, cutting agents and other drug paraphernalia. The news comes in the very same week London is named Cocaine Capital of Europe for a second year running.

But what does mean to Richard’s reputation in show business? These days we know him best as Vincent Hubbard – the lovable badboy in Eastenders, but once upon a time the comedian and actor also dabbled in rap. In fact his 2000 track Mama Who Da Man was a #3 hit single in the UK. Other follow up singles of his included 1, 2, 3, 4 Get With The Wicked (#10) and Someone There For Me (#23), along with the album, You’ll Love to Hate This (#10).

It follows that this Friday’s piece is a flashback to Richard’s biggest and best single. You’ve got it – it’s Mama Who Da Man:
